With headquarters in Lonay (Vaud canton), Switzerland, 442 Foundation grows out of the enthusiasm of a top-class footballer, Fabio Celestini, and it aims to promote actions whose purpose is to highlight the importance of sport as an element for the social integration of the youngest all over the world.
Nowadays, when we talk about sport, we think about the major football and basketball professional leagues, about the Olympic Games, cycling tours, etc.; we think about sport as a show but we often forget about SPORT in capital letters, the kind of sport that has the most followers and in most deeply rooted in all of us: the physical exercise we do every day, for fun, to improve our health and, particularly, to share certain moments with those we wish to have close-by.
Because SPORT is not only a show; it is also a vehicle for education, for personal development and participation in our local community. One way for men and women to communicate and express themselves.
This aspect of SPORT as an instrument for the integration and development of individuals since they are very young is the principle underlying the activities developed by 442 Foundation, as the social sensitivity of the founder, Fabio Celestini, is followed.
Because 442 Foundation believes that there are much more important games than those that bring a title.
We believe that sportsmen and sportswomen are the first people that must work responsibly for the good of SPORT, in any of its activities. The responsibility of playing FOR THE GAME.
We believe that they are the first responsible people because we have all placed on them all the enthusiasm thanks to which sport is alive, the dream of millions of children all over the world. For this reason, they also play FOR THE DREAM.
And, in accordance with the Foundation’s philosophy, we also believe that professional sportsmen and sportswomen have the privilege and the duty of playing for those in need, using their skills to help others, following the educational and social vision of sport, because games, actions and events held by 442 Foundation are always dedicated to a group, TO YOU.
